1951 CHEVROLET DELUXE for sale

Price: $48,000
1951 CHEVY STYLELINE, 216 STRAIGHT 6 CYLINDER, 3 SPEED MANUAL AND ON HYDROS
Bought it on a trip to Cali by it's current owner in 2017. It was a super clean original car and typical Californian car, it was was purchased with all original paint (no previous repairs) albeit faded from a life in LA, it only needed a few minor rust repairs and they were done back here in Australia and done properly with hand formed and butt welded repairs, the body was buzzed back, skimmed where required, blocked then high build primed. This was blocked before the Baslac base coat was applied in a 1950s VW colour called Ultramaroon and then clear coated. The underside was also water blasted, sanded and stone guarded for protection. The engine or gearbox are original to the car but the owner has added the Fenton split headers and had an exhaust shop do the split system with glass packs for the raspy sound typical of lowrider bombs of the 50s. The engine was tuned and had a kit through the carby.

Suspension wise, the stock front end was retained and hydraulic rams fitted using cut down original springs. A small tube notch was added to the rear rails but the stock closed torque tube style driveshaft was maintained. A bridge was constructed to reinforce the rails but also to provide upper mounts for the rear rams. Power balls were welded to the diff to allow for movement. The hydros run from three 12V batteries in the trunk, 24V to front and 12V to rear. Two Hoppos hydro pumps were used with custom springs in the rear. A custom two link set up was built for the rear and the owner still has the stock leaf springs rear if needed. with adjustable arms, and a custom panhard bar to stop side to side diff movement. All new brakes were installed (new shoes, machined drums) and the master cylinder plus all wheel cylinders were rebuilt.

Willem from Platinum Trimming retrimmed the entire interior including headliner, carpet, seats and door trims. New seals were purchased from the US and new screens purchased locally, new glass was cut by GJames in Nerang. A main power cable was run to the trunk area to power a sub (or subs)....speaker cable has been run under the carpet to the front, and to the rear if required for some audio.

New bumpers were purchased from the US and the over riders were chrome plated along with the gravel guards. The rest of the chrome and stainless trim was just hand polished as well as possible.

Build cost would be well over $60K not including the cost of the car originally purchased and imported.
